Please keep the following rules in mind when visiting Mill Creek:
HOURS: Tuesday-Thursday: 7:00am to 8:00pm, Friday through Sunday: 7:00am to 5:30pm. The barn is open to boarders only on Mondays. No one under 18 years of age may be on the property unattended on Mondays. No one can ride on Mondays unless they are under the supervision of a Mill Creek Trainer. The office is closed on Mondays and no one is allowed to enter the office except for authorized Mill Creek staff.
Boarders may turnout their horses themselves. Please be considerate of others. The maximum time in the turnout should never exceed 30 minutes. Boarders with horses in the turnout must remain on the property.
Mill Creek recommends one farrier, Robbie Cozart who comes every Tuesday. The farrier keeps track of your horse’s shoeing schedule. Contact him directly to arrange for his services. His email is RDCozart51@gmail.com and his cell is 818-634-6262. You will be billed directly by him for shoeing services and responsible for paying him directly.
NEVER longe in the dressage arenas. There is no longeing in the arenas after rain or if the rings are posted as closed. IF THE ARENAS ARE DRAGGED SMOOTH, do NOT use them.
Due to our insurance restrictions, ABSOLUTELY no jumping is permitted on MILL CREEK property without ASTM-SEI approved protective headgear and under direct supervision of a MILL CREEK instructor or trainer.
Let’s keep Mill Creek looking its best. Each rider needs to clean up her or his horse’s manure. A barrel and manure fork are available by the turnouts and in the rings. Please keep the cross-ties, rings and turnouts manure free. Also, please keep the tack room clean and remove any trash. This is good horsemanship and also keeps the flies away.
ABSOLUTELY no food (grain, bran, carrots, etc.) may be kept in the tack rooms overnight. Sacks of food attract rodents. Rodents have been known to enjoy chewing on saddles and even horses hooves! You need to store your grains at home or in your car.
ALL tack (including halters) must bear the owner’s name, on either brass or silver tags. This is for your protection. MILL CREEK ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOST OR STOLEN ARTICLES.
When hosing or bathing your horse, please conserve water. Do not leave the hose running while soaping your horse. If your horse soils the wash rack, DOT NOT hose the manure into the drain system. There are shovels and trashcans provided for your convenience at the wash racks and cross-ties.
We require all lesson cancellations to be made to the MILL CREEK OFFICE before 12:00 noon on the day PRIOR to your scheduled lesson. Lessons that are not cancelled in a timely manner will be billed to the rider. All riders need to schedule their lessons by filling out a monthly lesson schedule, available on the 15th of each month for the following month. In order to keep your regular private lesson times, we encourage riders to turn in schedules as soon as possible.
ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ON THE PROPERTY – EVER.
The speed limit at Mill Creek is three (3) miles per hour. PLEASE, PLEASE, DRIVE SLOWLY!
NO SMOKING anywhere on Mill Creek property.
ALL PERSONS riding a horse MUST have a current release form on file in the office.
All visitors to Mill Creek must sign-in at the office. There is a clip board hanging outside of the office.
