Perhaps the most unique component of our lesson program is the Children's Horse Program, which we offer on Saturdays and Sundays during the school year and daily during summer vacation. In addition to fundamental riding skills, students learn safe handling procedures, proper grooming techniques and correct use and care of riding equipment. We foster a sense of responsibility and love for horses by emphasizing the importance of respect and appropriate care for them.

General Information

The Children's Program normally begins in mid-June and runs through mid-August. The Mill Creek summer horse back riding program is designed to give our students “hands on” experience with horses. Our Sunday class is designed for children 6 years of age and older. For children 6 - 8 years old, the half day class is recommended (they ride for one hour and have one-half hour of activities). The full 1st level classes are for children 9 years and older. The activities vary to include some grooming and tacking up of horses and emphasize proper care and horsemanship. We also offer 2nd through 4th level classes for students who advance through the program.

Our trainers plan lots of terrific lessons and activities for the summer and when the program ends, there are riding lessons available in the Fall for your child/children to continue.

Please make sure that you and your child are aware of Mill Creek's general and safety rules listed on our Resources page.

If you have any further questions please call the office at (310) 455-1116.
