Riding Lessons

At Mill Creek Equestrian Center, our goal is to create conscientious, safe riders. We teach English riding lessons to all levels of riders. We encourage students to start off in private lessons, so an instructor can place them into an appropriate group lesson when they are ready. Our group riding lessons usually have five to ten riders and meet weekly. Most of our group lessons comprise ½ flat work and ½ jumping. We have a few groups that are Dressage or flat-work only (no jumping). Students may also schedule private or semi-private lessons in either jumping or Dressage.  Lessons are available Tuesday through Sunday; we are closed on Mondays and specified holidays.  For the competitive rider we specialize in Combined Training (Eventing) and Dressage and attend most of the Horse Trials in Area VI (California) as well as many of the local Dressage shows. Several times a year, our competitive riders have the opportunity to go out and school at some of the facilities where we compete.

Special Riding Programs

Mill Creek also runs several special riding programs. We have a Children's Day Camp on the weekends throughout the year and daily during the the Summer; complete information is provided on our Children's Day Camp page. In addition, we are privileged to provide a riding program through UCLA Recreation for their students, staff and faculty. We also host a number of camps for Horses in the Hood, Los Angeles, a fabulous organization that gives inner-city children an opportunity to ride and learn about horses.

Note to Non-Boarders: Lesson payment is due when turning in your monthly lesson schedule; if you do not pay at that time, your lesson will be entered into the book, but you will not be assigned a school horse until payment is received.
If we need to bill you for a lesson, a bookkeeeping fee applies (see below)
