Horses in the Hood at Mill Creek

A camper from HHLA with AnnieMill Creek has hosted Horses in the Hood (HHLA) riding camps since 2002. HHLA is an important community based program, whose mission is to teach inner city children about riding and caring for horses. These camps are taught by Mill Creek instructors and last five days, ending with a riding demonstration and pizza party for friends and family on the last day. Many of these children see the ocean and drive into the mountains for the very first time on their trip to Mill Creek. In addition to learning riding and horse care basics, Mill Creek schedules lectures by various horse care professionals, such as veterinarians and horse shoers.

Visit the Horses in the Hood website to learn more about the program and how to make a donation to this amazing program.
