Lindsay Smith was born and raised on the small island of Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts. She has spent most of her life riding horses and has always known she would make a career of it. When Lindsay was nine years old, Martha’s Vineyard hosted its very first dressage competition. She competed in it and won the junior championship. At age ten, she traveled off the island to her first USDF recognized competition. From then on she became an avid competitor. When she was fifteen, she purchased a Third Level horse named Roy. She took him to the regional championships twice: both times placing in the overall top five for the region. She then competed him in the FEI Young Rider classes. By the end of Summer 2005, she was competed Roy at the FEI Prix St. Georges level. From November 2005 through April 2006, Lindsay had the “wonderful opportunity of riding and working for Mette Rosencrantz here at Mill Creek.” Lindsay adds, “It was a great experience that I will always treasure. I am now very excited and grateful to be recognized as one of Mill Creek’s full-time instructors.”
