Jennifer Johnson initially joined Mill Creek in June of 2001 to enhance her already well-established Eventing program. She returned to Mill Creek in early 2015. Jennifer came from the East Coast with a superb Eventing background. In 1980, Jennifer received her degree from Morven Park International Equestrian Institute. In 1996, she was short-listed for the Olympic Games in Atlanta then won the Olympic selection trials. Jennifer was long-listed for the Olympic team from 1994 through 1998. The Olympic committee, impressed by her riding, offered her the Mars training scholarship in England where she trained with Captain Mark Phillips. While in Europe, she placed among the top riders in the British Open Championships. Her many other accomplishments include placing 2nd in the Radnor One Star Event in 1992 and 2nd in the Essex Two Star in 1993. Jennifer was the third leading lady rider in the U.S. in 1996. In more recent years, Jennifer has produced many horses and riders to earn top honors in national awards, winning Area VI Young Rider Teams and training spots on the US Team Developing Riders list.
Jennifer, who is primarily responsible for training our more advanced competitors, has brought a fresh perspective to Eventing at Mill Creek with a teaching style that nicely complements Cory’s. She shares riding techniques that she used effectively at the Olympic level and employs a quietly supportive manner; both have quickly earned her a loyal following among students. Jennifer has enjoyed an extremely successful career competing and training horses through the International levels and now her winning students attest to her achievement as an instructor.
