Mill Creek Equestrian Center is located in the Santa Monica Mountains
where it is surrounded by miles of riding trails. Our beautiful,
well-maintained facility is located in Old Topanga Canyon on
twenty-eight oak-shaded acres. Even though Mill Creek seems a world away
from the city, it is a short drive from virtually all parts of Los
Angeles County, particularly the Westside, San Fernando Valley and South
Bay.
Mill Creek is a full service boarding and training facility. As you will
soon discover from reading about our teaching staff
on this web site, we
offer some of the finest riding instruction available. Comprehensive
horse training is also available from most of our instructors.
Our riding
program focuses primarily on Eventing and Dressage training and we hold
classes for all levels of equestrians, from pleasure riders to advanced
competitors, both children and adults. Group, semi-private and private
lessons can be scheduled at your convenience and evening classes are
available for adults during the week. Quality school horses are
available for lessons for those who are not horse owners (sorry, we do
not rent horses for trail rides).
TRAINING
Our excellent school program has made Mill Creek one of the leading
Event barns in California over the past 30 years. Eventing or Combined
Training, which includes dressage, show jumping and cross-country
riding, has always been popular in Europe and has become increasingly
popular in the United States.
Mill Creek competitors travel to all major
California Horse Trials and have won hundreds of individual and dozens
of team championships. Our students have also become strong contenders
on the local Dressage Show circuit. In addition, we normally host two
Horse Shows a year on the grounds, exclusively for our own students.
Riders of both private horses and school horses are welcome to compete.
Mill Creek supplements its training program by hosting clinics given by
top professionals. Many horse-world dignitaries have visited visit Mill
Creek in recent years. We are also fortunate enough to have
Mette
Rosencrantz, a well known and respected Dressage trainer, based at Mill
Creek to provide support to our highest-level Dressage competitors.
